  • Ian Gray Who buys a Renault Laguna? Well I did but not from choice. My girlfriend owned it, my Ford Ka (sorry) breathed it's last and I bought it off her. We're getting married next year so it may be our own lucky charm. OK enough about me.  The car is the 'estate' version, not a proper estate car as I know them but a bit bigger than a standard hatchback. It's very comfy for both the driver and passengers and despite a poor reputation for reliability it has never let either of us down.  Petrol consumption is reasonable rather than spectacular.  I manage around 33-35 miles to a gallon overall. I think it's a shame that it's now discontinued but I probably wouldn't buy another one. It's a decent enough car but severely lacking in Street Cred. If anyone wants to ask about it I'll be glad to answer any questions.

  • Archie Diamond I drive a Golf Diesel Estate. It was registered in 1996 and when I got it 5 years ago it had just 20,549 miles on the clock (according to the receipt!) so it hadn't done much work. I bought it because we have a young family and I intended to tow a caravan with it but we never got round to buying one. I've never really regretted buying it in the past but I'm a bit bothered about all the bad publicity about diesel particle emissions. Our younger son has asthma and I dont know if the cars making it worse or not. So I'll probably replace it when I can afford to, whgich isn't yet. It's been good to drive though, lots of bottom-end power and v economical, I get more than 45 mpg overall.
